An new exciting programme – Citizen Curators!

Citizen Curators at Cornwalls Regimental Museum ,Bodmin Keep

As part of our National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) project, we have launched the Citizen Curators programme. The idea of the programme is that new and existing volunteers or staff are trained in museum skills, with the objective that the museum’s collections are interpreted in a different way.

Our Citizen Curators are: Janet; who works on our uniform collections, Andrew; who works on our archive, Sandra; who works behind the museum desk and Martyn; our Light Infantry Archivist.

Our fifth Citizen Curator is Chris, our new Collections Intern, who will be working at the museum full time for six months.

It’s fantastic to see a diverse team working together on something new, seeing them learn new skills and getting to grips with the collections and archive.

The group meet weekly at the museum and are joined regularly by museum professionals from other museums. They have already decided upon an exciting new exhibition, so watch this space for updates!
