Storytelling workshop by Paddleboat Theatre at Cornwall's Regimental Museum

National Lottery Heritage Fund

Foundations for the Future Project

This major project supported our long-term planning for a secure future for the museum and The Keep once our MOD funding expires in 2030.  The funding for this project was granted to us by the National Lottery Heritage Fund

The project was based on 4 distinct but interconnected strands of work which have enabled us to :

  1. Fully understand the income generation potential of our building and museum and develop a robust business plan
  2. Establish administrative systems to support the business and effective day-to-day operations
  3. Develop our audiences, a new brand identity and brand values
  4. Develop our volunteering

Cornwall Museums Partnership

Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation

We are part of Cornwall Museums Partnership, a consortium of museums across Cornwall which receives funding from Arts Council England to deliver a wide-ranging programme of work over 4 years 2018-2021.  This work includes working with the community to involve more young people, more older people and more people with disabilities.  It also enables us to get more of our stories and collections online and use digital technology to create exciting projects and raise the profile of what we’re doing.  Being part of this programme is vital to us and has transformed the way we work. If you would like to know more about this project, please contact the Museum Director Mary Godwin:

Catalyst Fundraising Development Project

The museum is undergoing a major organisational transformation.  Key to our future is generating more of our own income from earnings and donations.  In order to do this we must deliver a major capital project to make our historic building exciting and welcoming to visit.  A crucial part of our future success in realising this project will be building the support of individual donors. This project was funded by Arts Council England Catalyst Small Grants and helped us to build the skills and capacity to make the case for support and bring in the funding we need.
