Share your WW1 Story with Cornwall's Regimental Museum

The research team at Cornwall’s Regimental Museum is asking anyone with a WW1 story to get in touch and share it with us as part of an exciting commemorative project for 2018.

Have your family lived in Bodmin or in the surrounding areas for over 100 years?

Did one of your ancestors serve with the DCLI during WW1, and were they fortunate enough to return home from the war?

If so, we’d love to hear from you! We want to increase our knowledge of local people, and tell their stories during part of our 2018 WW1 centenary commemorations.

Deborah Vosper, lead researcher on the Trench Bodmin said, “We know there are many local people who have stories of relatives who served with the DCLI during the First World War, and we’d like to find them and hear their stories. With many families getting together over the Christmas period, now would a great time to ask those questions about your relatives roles in the First World War.”

If you’d like to tell us your family story, send it to us by email, to: research@cornwalls-regimentalmuseum.org or by post to:

Deborah Vosper, Research Team, Cornwall’s Regimental Museum, The Keep, Bodmin, PL31 1EG

The stories may be used as part of The Trench Bodmin, which will include a special exhibition inside the museum. Any stories shared will also be kept for posterity in the museum’s archives, and may be used in future exhibitions.  You can find out more about The Trench Bodmin here, or visit The Trench website: www.thetrenchbodmin.co.uk
