From the men fighting with the territorial 5th Battalion in Normandy, to the Depot Staff based here at Bodmin Keep; as a regiment of the British Army, the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry played a significant role during the Second World War.
Having suffered bitter defeats in both France and Belgium, the loss of a finely trained battalion in the desert, as well as playing their part in hard fought campaigns across both Italy and Western Europe, the men of the DCLI and their many sacrifices deserve to be both honoured and remembered.
