We have a full programme of Second World War themed family activities for all ages this October half term.
Explore how those on the Home Front made the most of what they had with Make Do and Mend. Learn how to make a lavender bag from fabric scraps and take away materials to make your own bag at home! There will also be a chance to find out about some wartime children’s games and pastimes.
Learn about some of the weapons used by the British Army and the Home Guard in the Second World War including a shotgun and Bren Gun. Hear how the army and those serving at home were equipped.
Activities run from 10am – 4.30pm and are included in the admission price. The museum is great value at £7 per adult, £3 per child, under 5 years are free, and it’s dog friendly too!
